I think Peanut still needs to work the bugs out. ^.^
I L’d out L.
I NEED ONE OF THOSE!!!
Hmm… I wonder where grape would go if he did want to teleport
London? German? Fido’s Basement to watch more of rule 34?
Yes! Calvin and Hobbes live on!
ENOUGH OF THE CALVIN AND HOBBES THIS IS PEANUT AND GRAPES TIMES TO SHINE AS THE GREATEST DUO THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY BECOME A COUPLE IN THE HISTOY OF WEB COMICS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
XD *SCREAMS MANIACLY IN EXTREME CRAZIED HAPPINESS*
EXACTLY THTS THE WHOLE POINT OF IT BEING CALLED HOUSEPETS NOT “MODERNIZED CALVIN AND HOBBES” GOOD LORD
*SCREAMS OFF INTO THE NIGHT AS WELL * AAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAAA
WHY IS EVERYONE YELLING!?!?!?!?
I LIKE LAMP!
>Maddy M. Man
I think this Calvin and Hobbs thing has gone on long enough, 2 was too many even to begin with. >.>
Calvin and Hobbes is good, but I prefer to see new stories.
YELLING IS FUN, NO?
I support the man.
Rick’s doing a great job, the world needs more child-friendly comics.
Personally I’d be against any development of the whole ‘cat-lover’ thing.
Keep it simple.
I couldn’t agree more!
I want a story line T-T
This is another fantastic comic!
Also, to all the C&H haters: take a chill pill.
I can’t help but think what happened to that poor revolutionary mouse with the eye patch when I look at Grape now… :,(
I’m pretty sure the bloke was eaten up…
I know he was, that’s what I meant. Shes a MURDERER! D:
Rick, how does it feel knowing your fans are all pushy morons? Seriously, some of these comments are worse than the stuff you’d find on youtube. Calm the hell down, folks.
I have to agree here folks, calm down, we don’t want it to get as bad as youtube post.
And of course if it does, I would hope Rick would take the whole post thing off for awhile or forever.
Personally I like the “Calvin and Hobbes” stuff. Sort of a devotion to the BEST COMIC EVER!!! I would be nice to see this stuff occasionally throughout housepets in the future.
It was ok ; but I do agree with some that this last strip push it a little too far, most of it because the joke (not so much for the Cardboard box reference) was directly taken from C&H, this is nothing of a big deal , but I did feel a little left down because I was expecting something more original like the last two strips (wich were in reference to C&H but with ther own jokes (as far as Im consern))
I played similarly with a cardboard box when I was a little kid… C&H ripped it off me!!!
See my point? Besides I just remember a transformation machine and a time machine from C&H no teleports.
oh come on “a joke told slightly different is still the same joke” and that’s my point , the first two strips are about Peanut trying to live like C&H while this one is just a C&H joke , what happened with the Peanut and Grape factor ? What make this housepet and not Calvin and hobbes?
i wanna see Fido and his girlfriend a bit more in a naughtier scene *giggles*
okay, just a bit creepy
Some of us here haven’t read every single Calvin and Hobbs comic, that and its been forever since i did pick up one.
It doesn’t hurt to throw in a bit of plot every now and then, and I like the theme of “secret cat girlfriend/crush”. When there is something beyond the joke-a-day kind of thing, the reader will come back wanting to know what happens next.
Heck, I just like the fact that he posts rather frequently for webcomic artists. Do love the homage to the C&H. Hopefully people stop being so impatient… That’s for sure.
Calvin and Hobbes is awesome, Is was probably my introduction to art and what taught me how to read. But you need to space the C&H references out a little.
MADDY MAD MAN, why did you imitate me? WHY!?!
This comic IS pretty good.
Cause i love u and this comic XD
Simpsons did it! Seriously people, C&H have done almost every possible gag. repetition is bound to happen. Zip your screaming howlers and enjoy a great comic.
Finally someone posts it! Let’s just get back to house pets and forget this C&H post nonsense even happened.
Personally, I like a mix of gag-a-day and storyline. Either way, I like this comic, and I would just like to see more of what you’ve been doing the entire time.
Also, and I think someone else noticed this as well, you do update regularly, so kudos to you.
1. The joke is funny no matter who did it “first.”
2. “Kid-friendly” does not equal “no romance.” If Rick was making, say, something for Seasame Street or Teletubbies, chances are, you wouldn’t be reading it. Romance does not an adult comic make. Plus, there are all KINDS of gags that can be pulled from cat-loves-dog scenes.
yeah, but where Fido’s particular scene was going…
It’s goin’ great so far! Story lines, gag breaks and homages.
Don’t worry about the banter and “advice.” Keep doing what you’ve been doing. That’s why we’re all here in the first place.
i agree a bit with OMG OMG OMG I LOVE THEM lets see some more of that scene *LAUGHS LIKE A LUNATIC WITH A MEGAPHONE*
Jason’s got the idea.
